Over the last 10 years, I have been able to support activity in the community and promote the town of Swanage to visitors ( inc summer Carnival, Folk Festival, Planet Purbeck, Christmas Lights etc meeting & greeting along the seafront, BBC South Today appearances, Radio Solent etc) and nationally in Town Crier competitions. This work is done voluntarily with most expenses paid by myself (transport, refreshments, cleaning & repairs to uniform).
Over time the uniform became worn out (estimated to being 50 years old) and I had a new one made by the Secretary of the Town Crier Guild with payment of £2,200 made by myself. Swanage Town Council are willing to make a substantial contribution but I wish to present an opportunity for local individuals, businesses and organisations to show their appreciation for work done by myself as Town Crier.
So I am setting up a JustGiving campaign to allow collection of contributions with a campaign to finish by 28th February 2022.
